Brandon rides three-game win streak into Friday trip to Owosso

The 4-2 Blackhawks, second in the Flint Metro Stars, visit Owosso on Friday and close the regular season at home against Pontiac.

Brandon's football team has won three straight games and sits at 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the Flint Metro League Stars division, good for second place, with three weeks left in the regular season.

The Blackhawks travel to Owosso on Friday, Oct. 9.

Back-to-back thrillers

Brandon's streak includes two close finishes. On Sept. 25, Kurt Briolat ran in a two-point conversion with 15 seconds left to lift the Blackhawks past Lake Fenton 43-42. Briolat finished with 124 yards and two touchdowns in that game.

The Blackhawks followed with a 36-30 win over Clio on Friday, Oct. 2, when Tyler Schlaire had 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns, according to the Citizen.

What's left

After Owosso, Brandon's Week 8 opponent is to be announced. The Oct. 16 date is blank on MaxPreps for Brandon, as it is for most OAA schools and Holly.

The regular season ends at home against Pontiac on Friday, Oct. 23.

The MHSAA will reveal playoff pairings on Selection Sunday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m. on the NFHS Network. District games begin Friday, Oct. 30, and the finals are set for Nov. 27–28 at Ford Field.
