Seaholm and Groves, both 4-2, each need two more wins to reach six

Seaholm hosts Harper Woods and Groves visits Waterford Mott's homecoming Friday as Birmingham's two high schools chase six-win seasons.

Birmingham's two public high school football teams enter the final three weeks of the regular season with identical records. Seaholm and Groves are both 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the OAA Blue, and each needs two more wins to reach six.

Groves won the head-to-head meeting, 14-13, on Sept. 18.

Seaholm

The Maples beat Southfield A&T 49-34 at homecoming on Friday, Oct. 2. Will Forberg scored four touchdowns, Ben Swisher added three and Brody Gable threw two touchdown passes, according to the Oakland Press. A week earlier, Gable's 1-yard touchdown with 25 seconds left beat Oak Park 21-20.

Seaholm hosts Harper Woods on Friday, Oct. 9. Harper Woods beat Groves 41-13 on Sept. 25 and Waterford Mott 47-12 on Oct. 2.

Groves

The Falcons edged Oak Park 20-18 on Oct. 2 after the loss to Harper Woods.

Groves visits Waterford Mott on Friday, Oct. 9, for Mott's homecoming game, and closes the regular season at home against Ferndale.

Playoff calendar

The MHSAA will reveal playoff pairings on Selection Sunday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m. on the NFHS Network. District games begin Friday, Oct. 30, and the finals are set for Nov. 27–28 at Ford Field.
