Avondale's football team heads into the final three weeks of the regular season at 3-3 overall and 3-1 in the OAA Gold, good for second place in the division, and with no margin left if it wants to finish with six wins.

The Yellowjackets must win out to reach 6-3. That run begins at home Friday, Oct. 9, against Berkley.

Recent results

Avondale bounced back last week with a 21-19 win over Waterford Kettering on Friday, Oct. 2, according to the Oakland Press scoreboard.

That came one week after a 74-0 loss at Ferndale on Sept. 25, a game in which Ferndale set its program scoring record and led 46-0 after one quarter.
